About Tiny Pastures
-
Tiny Pastures makes frozen, nutrient-dense baby food inspired by the meals we make for our own families. Our savoury purées are made with thoughtfully sourced ingredients like Canadian grass-finished and pasture-raised meats, nourishing bone broth, bone marrow, organic vegetables and fresh herbs.
-
We wanted Tiny Pastures to feel as close to homemade as possible. Our meals are freshly prepared and frozen, giving families a convenient option they can keep on hand and portion based on how much their baby needs.
-
Tiny Pastures was created because we couldn't find a healthy, nutritionally dense baby food meal that looked like we were making at home. Instead of predominantly fruit-forward purées, our recipes focus on savoury whole foods, including quality meat, vegetables, nourishing fats, bone broth and fresh herbs.
Nutrition & Feeding
-
As babies begin eating solid foods, nutrients including iron, zinc, protein and healthy fats become particularly important. Tiny Pastures was created to offer savoury, whole-food meals containing ingredients naturally rich in these nutrients.
-
Tiny Pastures is designed for babies beginning complementary foods, generally around six months once they are developmentally ready for solids. Every baby develops differently, so follow your baby's readiness cues and speak with your healthcare provider if you're unsure.
-
Not at all. Tiny Pastures can be spoon-fed, served alongside age-appropriate finger foods, or incorporated into meals as your baby progresses. There is no single "right" way to feed a baby.
-
Absolutely! Tiny Pastures was created for parents who want to feed their babies nourishing, homemade-style meals without having to make everything from scratch. Our frozen portions are ready when you need them, simply take out what your baby needs, thaw, and serve.
It’s the convenience of ready-made baby food, inspired by the kind of real, whole-food meals we make at home. -
That's okay! Learning to eat is an adventure. New flavours, smells and textures can take time, and a funny first face doesn't necessarily mean your baby doesn't like something. Keep offering new foods without pressure and let their little palate explore.
Our Ingredients
-
We prioritize BC and Canadian ingredients whenever possible and work with trusted suppliers and farm partners. Transparency is a big part of why Tiny Pastures exists we believe parents deserve to know where their baby's food comes from.
-
Our sourcing standards prioritize pasture-raised and grass-fed/grass-finished meat from Canadian farms. We work closely with our meat partners to understand where our meat comes from and how the animals were raised.
-
We prioritize certified organic vegetables and source from BC and Canadian growers whenever possible. Because Canadian growing seasons are limited, some ingredients may come from trusted organic farms outside Canada when a local option isn't available.
-
Bone marrow adds naturally occurring fat, richness and a creamy texture to our purées. It's a whole-food ingredient we love using in meals for our own families.
-
Instead of simply using water as the base of our purées, we use nourishing bone broth. It naturally contains amino acids and collagen-derived proteins such as gelatin while adding a rich, savoury flavour.
-
Our recipes are intentionally savoury and aren't built around fruit to make them sweet. We don't add refined sugar or sweeteners; flavour comes from real ingredients like meat, vegetables, herbs, broth and naturally occurring fats.
Frozen Portions & Storage
-
Simply remove the number of frozen portions your baby needs, thaw or gently warm according to the package instructions, stir thoroughly and check the temperature before serving.
-
Yes! This is one of the reasons we provide individually portioned frozen meals. Parents can take out what they need without having to thaw an entire package.
-
Every baby is different. Babies beginning solids may eat only a small amount, while older babies may want several portions. Follow your baby's hunger and fullness cues and adjust as they grow.
-
We're currently completing the testing needed to establish the appropriate frozen shelf life for our recipes. Final storage and thawing instructions will be clearly printed on every package.
-
Once thawed, Tiny Pastures shouldn’t be refrozen. Simply keep any thawed portions in the fridge and enjoy them within the recommended timeframe on the package.
Safety & Transparency
-
Every Tiny Pastures product will clearly identify its ingredients and priority allergens. Recipes may vary, so always review the information for the specific meal you're serving.
